The Gentle Walking Group meet alternate Mondays throughout the year. We meet in the main car park in Usk, near the rear of the museum, for a 10.30 am start. The walks are usually 2 and a half to 3 miles long and finish by 12.30 – 1.00pm. Sometimes members meet up for a coffee locally aftewards and all are welcome to join us.
The Coffee walks meet on the first Friday in the month at the same place and time when we are walking in Usk , but in Twyn Square to catch the 10.30 or 10.35 No 60 bus if visiting Monmouth, Raglan or Caerleon. These walks are for the less adventurous, and we usually walk for half to three quarters of an hour with a coffee either en route or at the end. We try to have no stiles or hills but there may be an incline.
Both groups are very friendly and welcoming. Stout shoes or walking boots are necessary for your comfort, especially for the Gentle walks, as fields can be muddy and hilly with some stiles. Suitable clothing for the weather is required and a drink and stick are highly recommended. Why not try a few walks with us to see if this is what you want? We have found we are fitter and happier for being out in the fresh air with friends and like minded people.
