Members Monthly Meetings
Usk u3a organise a members meeting most months in the calendar year, to which all members are invited. The meetings are publicised in advance and appear on the website calendar. The meetings are held on the last Friday of the month at 2.00pm and are held at either The Memorial Hall, Usk or Llangybi Hall, Llangybi. The venue is publicised in advance.
Meetings are a great way for members to meet up socially, listen to a wide variety of speakers and catch up on Usk u3a business and notices over a cup of tea and a biscuit. Sometimes delicious cake!
We don’t hold a monthly meeting in August or December. Our December meeting has become a Christmas lunch. The meeting in March is given over to the AGM and speaker.
To give a taste of our activities recently we have had speakers and activities on the following topics:
Wild water swimming, A successful local crime writer, The Medieval Ship at Newport .
We have held A Celebration afternoon of Pimms and Strawberries to celebrate 40 years of the U3A, and a very entertaining quiz.
Previously while in lockdown we still continued to offer members a meeting via zoom and it was lovely to see so many members join in but it is so nice to meet in person now.
We are always open to new ideas for speakers, demonstrations and engaging topics for our members.
